Safety Center
Your safety on and off BEEM.
BEEM is built privacy-first. You are only discoverable to nearby adults inside your chosen radius, and you decide what to share, with whom, and when. This page explains the tools we provide and best practices for meeting people you connect with.
Built-in protections
- Proximity-only visibility. Your profile only appears to people physically within the radius you select. Move away and you disappear.
- Approximate location only. BEEM never shares your precise coordinates or address with anyone.
- Hide Mode. Turn discovery off at any time. You'll stay invisible while still able to message existing friends.
- AI photo moderation. Every photo is scanned before it goes live. Nudity, minors, weapons, hate imagery, and other prohibited content are blocked.
- No phone numbers required. BEEM Connect lets you share only the social handles you choose, with only the friends you choose.
- Blocking. Blocked users cannot see you, message you, view your profile, or interact with any of your content anywhere in the app.
Reporting & moderation
Tap the Report button on any profile, message, or photo. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and, when warranted, result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans. You can appeal any moderation action from Settings → Appeals.
Meeting people from BEEM
- Meet in a public place the first time.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Arrange your own transportation to and from the meeting.
- Trust your instincts — leave if something feels off.
- Never send money, gift cards, or crypto to someone you met on BEEM.
- Be cautious sharing personal details (home address, workplace) early on.
Recognizing scams
Common red flags: someone who wants to move off BEEM immediately, asks for money or financial help, refuses to video chat, has a story that keeps changing, or pushes for personal information right away. Report and block anyone exhibiting these behaviors.
Emergencies
If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first (911 in the US, 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK). Then report the incident to us at safety@beem.life so we can take action on the account.
